Back in the 90s I bought a book called “The Technical Pen” by Gary Simmons. It was an 8×10 inch paperback that cost about $20. This book is unbelievably inspiring for anyone who loves to draw. It’s out of print now, so be prepared to pay anywhere from $50 to $100 for a copy, but even at those prices I’d say this book is well worth it.
So I found a set of Rapidographs on sale somewhere and started drawing. Just about all of the drawings in this section are done with those pens.
Nowadays, however, I find Rapidographs too fussy, so I’ve pretty much switched to disposable Pigma Microns. Of course for really fine lines, only the Rapidographs will do.
I’ve also done some drawings with dip pens. “Tasha” is one.
